How do you say it?

Are the Pliny beers of Russian River Brewing Company fame pronounced with a ‘short i’ – as in tin – or with a ‘long i’ – as in ice?  According to Beer Pulse: Russian River’s Natalie Cilurzo confirms that Pliny the Elder/Younger (the beers) are not pronounced like the philosophers of the same name.

So:

Pliny the Elder

Pronounced with a short ‘i’ as in tin.

Pliny the Elder

Pronounced with a long ‘i’ as in tiny.
