Up Your Beer Knowledge

Here is this week’s installment of “Up Your Beer Knowledge” by Tunit.

The United States is currently experiencing a huge revival in the craft beer scene, but it’s still hard to ignore
the fact that light flavorless lagers continue to prevail.  As I mentioned in last week’s post, beer has been an important part of life for over 10,000 years, and believe it or not, delicious beer used to be the norm, not the exception. In 1873 there were 4,131 breweries in the U.S., and dark munich lagers were the most popular style.  However, a century later, there were barely over 100 breweries still in existence. Thankfully, our country no longer lives in this dark age of beer.  Once again, we see the craft beer scene thriving as new breweries pop up every year. Let’s all make a serious commitment to helping our craft breweries grow. Drink more beer!

After reading Tunit’s post, I came across this neat little app — yes — there’s an app for craft beers!  I just downloaded it.

The App is called Today’s Beer by early-humans.  I will let you know how it works.

Hoppy endings!
